Week 8 of Shoot & Edit

Theme/Prompt is Self Portrait or Couples. *Sigh* I really do loathe self portraits. I would be so content on the other side of the camera. But, since this is the prompt for the week, I'll do it. But first, please let me introduce my newest "family member" I was blessed to purchase this weekend: Nikolette.

I just got her on Saturday, so we are still adjusting to each other. I have seen already I can do sooooo much more her than I could with my D40!!! It has been my intent to save up to purchase a D90, but I put this one in my hand and she kinda got stuck there so I went ahead and brought her home with me-lol Okay, not really. I saw the differences between the two and thought it a wiser choice to go with the D7000.

Anyway, here are my self portraits I took with Nikolette (gulp!):

My daughter helped me with this one:

My hubby and I at Lake Michigan- very random- my mom took these with my D40:

I love them all!

I just replaced my D40 too, but with a D3100. I would have liked a D7000, but it was out of our price range at this time. I'm keeping the D40 though ... planning to teach my daughter how to use it.

Anyway, enjoy your new camera! Looks like you've got the hang of it already.

Wow ... great SOOC shots, especially the 1st and last pics. Well done.

I've been hanging on to my D70 since ... forever. I'm considering the D7000 as my next one. I'll might have to bother you for your opinion in the next little while.
