Week 4 of Shoot & Edit

Theme: "Red"
When I read about the red theme, my first thought went to a rose/roses. I had been wanting to photograph one or two for awhile and finally had a reason to. My hubby picked me up a small bouquet and I played around with my roses, macro filters, a squirt bottle and a kitchen window. All are SOOC:
I did one squirt with my little spray bottle and loved how the water drops formed on the petal!
This one had water drops on the edge of the petals. Personally, I liked the overall colors and the bokeh:
I see some vignetting on this one because of the screw on macro filter:
One thing I remembered that helped was to watch what I had my camera set on for colors. If it was set to "vivid" then my reds would come out looking like a fuchsia pink. Not good when I want red! So, I reverted back to normal and that seemed to help in getting a good solid red color.
Since I am basically "iced" in my house due to this big storm, I plan to try to shoot my flowers with a black background tomorrow...say tuned!
